I am a board-certified psychiatrist and psychotherapist who helps adults struggling with systemic oppression, internalized oppression, identity, relationships, low mood, or anxiety. I completed my psychiatry residency training at NYU, before completing my fellowship in Public Psychiatry at Columbia University. I&#8217;m currently a Clinical Instructor at NYU Department of Psychiatry. I take a psychodynamic approach to therapy, with a recognition that societal issues and systemic oppression, such as racism, sexism, homophobia\/transphobia, and sanism further add to distress. Sometimes oppression comes from mental health institutions themselves. I prescribe medications for those who it would be helpful, and I recommend de-prescribing off for others.
