Navigating illness can be a tremendous stressor, and the mind and body are deeply connected. Therapy offers space to process, understand, and cope with the emotional realities of medical issues and disability. I focus on illness (both acute and chronic) and medical trauma. I have particular experience working with people affected by Multiple Sclerosis and other autoimmune issues, including loved ones. I work with those adjusting to a new diagnosis, ongoing or worsened symptoms, relationship strain, identity issues, caregiving, and children of ill parents. I integrate psychoanalytic therapy with EMDR as needed. I have experience in a variety of treatment settings including the Walnut Psychotherapy Center in Philadelphia, a practice focused on psychodynamic queer and trans affirming therapy.
I am in-network with Aetna, Anthem BCBS, Carelon Behavioral Health, Cigna, Highmark BCBS of Western NY, Highmark BlueShield of Northeastern NY, Horizon Blue Cross and Blue Shield of New Jersey, and Providence Health Plan.
