The ways we struggle often started as adaptive behaviors and thought patterns that helped us survive painful situations in the past. As such, they can also speak to a desire for a different way of living. As a psychoanalytic psychotherapist, I work collaboratively with you, listening and asking questions and attuning to your words and your unique presence to help us reach towards this unconscious material. Together, over time, we can create new channels for old feelings, new vantages onto old desires, that can foster a greater sense of agency, connection, safety and aliveness.
I bring to this work a deep recognition of systemic forces and how they shape individual experience and often come into play in the therapeutic relationship.
