Clinton Asay

Mental Health Counselor
Substance Use/Identity

I have experience working with diverse clients and approach talk therapy with curiosity, warmth, and an authentic interest in the lives of others. It is my strongly held belief that meaningful change happens when folks are supported in their self-discovery, recognizing that they are the expert in their own experience. I utilize a trauma-informed, integrative approach, drawing from narrative therapy, family systems, and psychodynamic theory. I reject the traditional notion of the “blank slate” in therapy and encourage an interactive and collaborative approach to emotional work.
