Ash Choi

Psychotherapist
Sexuality, Attachment, Trauma
LMSW

Race, class, and gender are at the forefront in my work with survivors of complex trauma. I help queer and trans immigrant communities with mental health challenges related to their lived experiences of abuse and neglect, long-term grief, and intergenerational trauma. We will explore issues of sex and intimacy as well as emotional wounds experienced with partners and families. My clinical modalities are psychodynamic and experiential. A few of the ways we will work together to make sense of traumatic experiences are through body-based strategies, trauma narratives, and emotionally focused therapy. My practice is also rooted in trans-affirmative care. I am a queer, nonbinary therapist mainly providing support for trans and nonbinary clients coping with transphobia and exploring gender.
