Alex is a non-binary/trans-masc advanced clinical intern pursuing their MSW at Hunter College. Prior to their graduate studies, Alex spent five years as a Recovery Coach to help people navigate early recovery from substance use disorders. They also started a cooking class for people in recovery to help them build skills and community. Because of their personal and professional experience with recovery’s impact on a person’s identity, Alex recognized they wanted to shift to social work. Alex’s practice is a strengths-based, non-judgmental approach that integrates several modalities and respects individuals as they develop into their authentic selves. Alex also holds a M.A. in Music Business and a B.A. in International Affairs.
